Copyright & Fair Use Policy

MIJ Archive is a historical preservation project. This page explains how the archive approaches copyright, credit, and the rights of the original publishers and manufacturers whose material it preserves.

1

Purpose of the Archive

MIJ Archive exists to preserve the historical record of Japanese guitar manufacturing. The archive gathers and documents catalogues, brochures, magazines, advertisements, dealer literature, and other historical material connected to that history, with the aim of keeping this record accessible before it is lost to time, disposal, or fading memory.

2

Copyright Ownership

All trademarks, logos, brand names, catalogue artwork, and original publications featured in this archive remain the property of their respective copyright holders. Their preservation here is not a claim of ownership, and nothing on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise. MIJ Archive is not affiliated with, and does not speak on behalf of, any of the manufacturers, brands, or publishers whose material it documents.

3

Educational and Historical Purpose

Material is preserved and presented here for historical research, education, scholarship, reference, and long-term preservation. The archive documents a specific manufacturing history for those studying, researching, collecting, or appreciating it.

4

Use of Historical Material

MIJ Archive does not claim copyright ownership of third-party historical publications merely because a physical copy has been scanned or photographed. Any commercial activity associated with the operation of MIJ Archive does not transfer or imply ownership of the underlying third-party publications, trademarks, artwork, or other protected material.

5

Accuracy & Provenance

Every effort is made to present historical information as accurately as the available evidence allows. The archive maintains source and provenance information where available and welcomes corrections supported by clear evidence.

6

Rights Holder Requests

If a copyright owner believes that material appearing in this archive should be corrected, credited differently, or removed, MIJ Archive welcomes that request. Requests will be reviewed promptly and in good faith. Please identify the material, the relevant page or URL, the nature of the claimed right, and a way to contact you.
